Hello,

I'm Kate. I am now 14 years old. This is my site (unfortunately my dad is not updated it regularly :))  , and as you may have read on the front page, I am serious about music. I enjoy singing, and I have been singing for more than half of my life. This old picture on the right shows me preparing for one of my first professional recordings in the studio when I was 3. It was such a long time ago!

In the future, I see myself as an opera singer. I work hard to make it happen. I take lessons from the renowned opera singer baritone maestro David Varjabed. He is a great vocal teacher specializing in the Bel Canto technique. He demands discipline and dedication from his singers, and they achieve excellent results. He is also a founder of Opera Belcanto of South Simcoe.

In autumn 2007 I had auditions with Opera Ontario and I have been chosen as a soloist to sing "First Spirit" soprano role in Mozart's "Die Zauberflote". Before I sang in opera "Tosca" also in year 2007 and in the opera "Carmen" (in the right picture) when I was 9.

To sing in the opera, one must be very knowledgeable in music. My favourite instrument is piano, and I play it quite well (I think) I play at the concerts too, but I still practice regularly with my music teacher Miss Lauren Cho. She is a very nice person, and I enjoy her lessons very much. You can listen one of my piano performances here. Lauren is very strict, but never mean.

These next two pictures were made, as you can see, a long time ago. They show me in my kindergarten, where we were doing a play on noses, ears… you get the picture. I played the part of Pinocchio. The woman in the left picture is my first vocal teacher Ludmila Marksovna Gaft. She first discovered my voice when I first came to kindergarten. After that, I sang in all the kindergarten plays, and a while after that, I got invited to sing at festivals and concerts. Ludmila Marksovna was the best teacher in the world! Another teacher from my earlier childhood was Ludmila Pavlovna Parhomenko (on the right photo), who wrote for me the song "Baby Kangaroo".

But don't get the idea that singing and music are the only things that I enjoy doing.

I like sports, especially gymnastics, downhill skiing, swimming. And I am proud that among my numerous music awards there are many medals and cups for my sports achievements, too. Maybe some day I will find the way to display all my awards here on my web site - because medals, prizes and diplomas are not only the proof of achievements, but also good memories about different places where the competitions took place, and all the nice people I met there.

I also do ballet! Here you see one picture of me as a ballerina. I am practicing a ballet with great ballet teacher, Max Ratevosian. He teaches intermediate and advance ballet, and his wife Melania teaches little ones.

As you can see on the next picture, I like riding horses as well. For me, it's not a sport, but an opportunity to spend time with these graceful and strong creatures. Just look at this horse. Isn't he beautiful? His name is Minster, and he is the best horse ever! The right picture was taken on a farm, where we get all our veggies. I have always wanted to get a dog, but sadly, my parents say no. So when I have an opportunity, I always play with dogs! :) But last year 2009 we bought ferret. His name is Kuzia and he is on the right picture. I am very happy!!

I like reading books a lot. My list of favourites books is long, but here are some that I think are the best: The Lord Of The Rings, Orphan at my Door, Without Family, and many, many others.
